The new Grammer company headquarters is a great example of successful collaboration between a renowned industrial concern, an experienced engineering office and a creative architect. The building represents Grammer's forward-looking nature and innovative power, and offers employees an attractive workplace.

The idea

Grammer AG, a leading supplier of car interior components and systems, issued a call for tender in 2017 for designs for its new company headquarters in Ursensollen. The goal was to draw up a modern, sustainable building that reflected the identity and values of the company and provided employees with an optimal work environment.

The building

The competition was won by SÜSS and jb architekten, who, together, developed an innovative concept for the building services engineering and architecture. Planning and completion of the project took place from 2018 to 2020 in close coordination with the owner and users.

The result: a four-storey structure with an imposing façade in glass and metal, harmoniously inserted into the landscape. The building has a floor area of approx. 10,000 m2 and offers space for around 500 employees. It is impressively energy-efficient, with flexible room arrangements and modern furnishings and equipment. The highlights include an expansive foyer with a product exhibition area, a multi-functional conference zone, a cafeteria with roof terrace and a fitness room.
